In Dhaka: Three people were killed and 20 others injured in a head-on collision between two buses in Ashulia area under Savar upazila around 8am on Thursday.
The deceased are Mariam, wife of Abdul Malek of Comilla and Abbas Ali, son of Ansar Ali of Khulna.
Ashulia OC Mohsinul Quader said: “The bodies have been sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy while the injured were taken to different local hospitals in Ashulia.”
In Comilla: Two people were killed and 10 others injured as a bus of Padma Express rammed into a roadside tree when its driver lost his control over the steering around 12am.
The identities of the detainees could not be ascertained yet.
Elliotganj police out-post In-Charge Monirul Islam said: “The injured have been sent to different local hospitals.”
In Chittagong: Three bike riders were killed as a covered van knocked down a motorcycle at Banu Bazar under Sitakunda upazila around 11pm on Wednesday.
The deceased are Rakib, 25, Noyon, 25, and Jabeb, 22.
Baro Aulia highway police station OC Saleh Ahmad Pathan told the Dhaka Tribune: “Two of them died on the spot while another was declared dead when taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.”
