Security at Bakshibazar special court in Dhaka beefed up

Security has been significantly beefed up in the special court set up on the Alia Madrasa premises in Bakshibazar. On Tuesday morning, the correspondent witnessed that an archway and bamboo fencing have been built at the entrance to the court. A banner with a message from Dhaka Metropolitan Police Lalbagh Zone was seen hanging from a pole beside the archway, clarifying the development. The banner said: "Bishesh adalote nirapottar karone onugroho purbok nirpottar tollashite sahajjyo korun" which roughly translates to "Due to security reasons in the special court premises, please cooperate with the security checking."Special The banner at the court premises entrance|Nasirul Islam/Bangla TribuneResponding to a query, DMP Deputy Commissioner (prosecution wing) Md Anisur Rahman said: "The archway at the entrance has been built to beef up security in the court premises. Additional security measures have been implemented since last Thursday, but security has been heightened today [Tuesday]." According to insiders, security has been increased in the court premises as announcement of the verdict on the Zia Orphanage Trust Graft Case is drawing near, and trial of Zia Charitable Trust Graft case also making good progress. The trial of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, in two graft cases earlier filed by the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC), is being held in this court.
