The Awami League and its political allies have chalked out elaborate programmes to observe Victory Day on Saturday.
The national flag will be hoisted atop Awami League offices across the country as well as at Bangabandhu Bhaban in Dhanmondi 32 in Dhaka.
They will pay tributes to martyrs of 1971 by placing floral wreaths at the National Mausoleum in Savar at 6:34am and at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi 32 around 8am.
Leaders of the Awami League-led 14-party alliance will pay homage to Bangabandhu by placing wreaths also at his grave in Tungipara of Gopalganj around 10am. And at 3pm, the party will place wreaths at Shikha Chirantan at Suhrawardy Udyan.
Later, leaders and activists of the Awami League will bring out a procession from Shikha Chirantan that will end at Bangabandhu Bhaban in Dhanmondi.
The party will hold a discussion at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre on December 17, with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair, and a cultural programme at Rabindra Sarobar in Dhanmondi on December 18.
