Chief Justice calls for more sincerity to reduce backlog

“We have to find a cure for this case backlog disease,” he said while addressing the second National Judicial Conference 2016 at the Supreme Court auditorium yesterday. The last day of the conference will have an in-depth discussion on the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act 2000. “I felt hurt to hear that judges in some districts are involved in unexpected conflicts over personal issues. It affects the judicial system and leads to sluggishness,” the Chief Justice added. He further said: “I never made decisions of promotion and recruitment alone. I always decide these things after consulting with my senior judges.” Justice M Enayetur Rahim emphasised on legal aid services, saying: “There are inadequacies of legal aid services because of internal limitations.”
