Kamal: Action against illegally employed foreigners

Government will take action against illegally employed foreigners, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said. He made the statement while responding to a query in the parliament on Thursday. Kamal said currently 910 foreigners are living illegally in Bangladesh. He said: “Currently the number of legal foreigners in Bangladesh is 111,575 and among them, 910 possess expired visas.” Home boss said law enforcement agencies, including the Special Branch, have been involved in a special drive to identify the illegal foreigners. “The Special Branch of Police have the names of the foreigners listed. Immediate action will be taken against illegally employed foreigners.” The minister said there are presently 20,656 Indian citizens living in Bangladesh, some of whom are working in various organisations.
