Doctors: No injury mark found on Shakil's body

Viscera samples have been collected for further tests to determine the cause of the 47-year-old's death.Shakil died at a Japanese restaurant in Dhaka's Gulshan on Tuesday. A three-member team, led by Dr Shohel Mahmud, performed the post-mortem examination at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Wednesday morning. Sohel said they did not find any sign of injury and that the viscera report would make clear what caused Shakil's death. Shakil's body was taken to the Dhaka University campus, where he studied social science, for namaz-e-janaza around 11am. Awami League activists and police said he would be buried in Mymensingh where he was born in 1968. The former Bangladesh Chhatra League leader had previously served as the prime minister's deputy press secretary. He is survived by his wife and daughter.
