A white moggy called Theo won the “British Cat of the Year” title for saving his owner’s life from potential fatal blood clot. The award was announced on August 2, reports Reuters.
The pet detected a fatal blood clot in his owner, Charlotte Dixon. Theo sat on his owner, and kept her awake overnight which probably saved her life.
Theo’s owner found him when he was suffering from cat flu. Charlotte’s nursing and care brought the cat back to life from serious illness.
Years later, the pet repaid his owner in the most incredible way, and became “British Cat of the Year 2018.”
Theo beat hundreds of other cats to take the top honour at the National Cat Awards, organized by UK charity organization "Cats Protection."
Unfortunately, Theo died just a couple of weeks before he could accept the award.
Eight-year-old Theo lived in Redditch, Worcestershire with his owner.
Other prize winners included black and white cat Arthur, who helped his owner overcome mental health issues and two-year-old Toby, who alerts his owner to the onset of a debilitating seizure.
