Nagarkrishi works much like an institution, providing training and guidance through workshops for the urban farmer. It has a dedicated team that is always active on social media, and gives 24/7 free consultancy on any kind of information the client needs.
The organisation is currently working with the Creative Conservation Alliance (CCA), which is dedicated to ecological and cultural preservation of Bangladesh's remaining natural sites. The team is also collaborating with Fab Lab of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University for sustainable and innovative product development in the sector of urban agriculture.
Praising the activities of the team, Dr Noman Faruque, Associate Professor at SAU said: “The Nagarkrishi entrepreneurs are young, and have only completed their honors, but they are highly energetic and proactive.”
The Nagarkrishi team has already received awards and recognition for their work. One member from Nagarkrishi was selected for the Global Young Hero Conference in Nepal to represent Bangladesh.
The team actively helps out aspiring farmers by providing information, and work towards food security for city dwellers. Currently, there are 15 members working at the organisation.
