Update : 11 Sep 2017, 02:39 PM
A video, showing a man calling out Azaan at the Alhambra Palace in Spain, has gone viral. The Azaan was called by Mouaz Al-Nass, a Syrian national. According to Mouaz: “The walls have missed hearing the call to Allah.” In the video, he is seen standing in a corner with his hand plugging his ear and reciting the Azaan with occasional deep breaths. The video, “Call to prayer inside Alhambra palace,” was posted on Mouaz's Facebook account on September 7. It has been viewed around 1.3 million and shared 25, 430 times so far.In the comment section, people from different beliefs have widely applauded the recitation and the unexplainable spiritual moment captured in the video. Muslims arrived in Spain in 711AD and ruled the country till 1492AD. Muslims, who lived during that period were regarded as Moors, built the legendary palace in the 14th century. After the defeat of Muslims in Granada in January 1492 known as the “La Reconquista,” the Muslim population was forced to convert to Christianity. Many continued practicing Islam secretly.
