A unique vehicle

A trader of old newspapers and empty oil cans from India's Odisha has turned heads with his somewhat unique cargo-carrying vehicle. Sibaram Sahu's vehicle is a cross between a scooter and a rickshaw. Sahu, from Berhampur, came up with impressive combination to make his daily trade easier, reports The Hindu. He said he used a cycle-rickshaw for collecting and trading old materials from villages on the outskirts of Berhampur and that was quite difficult for him. Sahu said he can carry more goods on his new vehicle which has increased his income. The idea of joining a scooter with a rickshaw van came to him about a year ago after he had bought an old scooter at Rs3,000. A two-wheeler garage owner near his house helped him. The back portion of the scooter and the front portion of the rickshaw were removed. The scooter was then joined with the van’s trolley. Sahu said he was in a dilemma over whether to wear a helmet or not when driving his vehicle since his ride is a three-wheeler and a two-wheeler at the same time.
