Army in Victory Day Volleyball semis

Bangladesh Army advanced to the semi-final of the Walton Refrigerator Victory Day Volleyball Competition after winning their third consecutive match, at Volleyball Stadium in Paltan, Dhaka Wednesday.

Army had beaten Power Development Board in their opening game before defeating Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Pratishthan by 3-0 sets (25-21, 25-19, 25-12 points).

Army then beat Bangladesh Jail 3-0 (25-17, 25-9, 25-9 points) to earn maximum nine points from their three matches.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Navy and PDB won the other games of the day Wednesday at the same venue on Christmas.

Navy garnered their second win after defeating Fire Service and Civil Defence 3-0 (25-12, 25-12, 25-9 points) while PDB beat Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party 3-0 (25-22, 25-13, 25-23 points).

With the win, PDB now have two victories in three attempts.

Three games will be held Thursday on Boxing Day.

PDB will take on BKSP at 11am, Army will face Ansar at 1pm while Bangladesh Air Force and Titas Club will lock horns with each other at 3pm.

The 10-team tournament will conclude Tuesday.

The top two teams from each group will progress to the last four.
