Shamim selected chairman of Special Olympic advisory council

The chairman of Special Olympics, Bangladesh since 2008, Shamim Matin Chowdhury has been selected chairman of the Special Olympic Asia Pacific advisory council from the years 2018-2020.
The seven-member committee was announced on the first day of the Council on February 1 during the Special Olympics Asia Pacific regional leadership conference that took place in Singapore from January 31 to February 4.
Shamim, one of the founders of Special Olympics, Bangladesh, served as member of the Special Olympic Asia Pacific Leadership council from 2015-17. Apart from arranging various sports training programmes for intellectually challenged children, the renowned psychiatrist also runs an organisation titled “Beautiful Mind” for autistic and mentally challenged children.
