Bangladesh reach semis in Street Child United WC

Bangladesh have reached the semi-final of the six-a-side Street Child United World Cup in London Sunday after winning two matches out of four.

Despite losing to England and Tanzania, Bangladesh confirmed their last-four berth after beating North India and Nepal.

Alongside Bangladesh, South India, Tanzania and host England also qualified for the semis.

The semi-finals and final will be held Tuesday at Lord’s.

Against England, Bangladesh posted 32 runs losing two wickets in six overs before the home side reached their destination for the loss of one wicket with six balls to spare.

Against North India, Bangladesh registered 39 without loss before restricting the opposition to 34 to win by five runs.

Against Tanzania, Bangladesh made 36 for the loss of three wickets before the East African side coasted to victory without any loss.

In the do-or-die match against Nepal, Bangladesh scored 49 for one before restricting the opponent to 42 for one to win by seven runs.

Besides playing the semi, and potentially the grand finale, Bangladesh will also take part in the International Congress and Art Festival.

On special request from the Members of the British Parliament, the Bangladesh kids will be a part of the dinner program at the House of Commons.

The Bangladesh kids will also play an exhibition game against the Members of the British Parliament.
