'Batikrom Nattyagosty' to arrange Syed Mohidul Islam Remebrance Fest from November 4

Batikrom Nattyagosty, a theatrical troupe; reminiscing the contribution of the great dramatist Syed Mohidul Islam on his 20th death anniversary and celebrating their 46th founding anniversary, will arrange the 'Syed Mohidul Islam Remembrance Festival 2022' on November 4 to November 8 at the main auditoriam of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

The premiere of the documentary, 'Obhinoy Guru'- on Syed Mohidul Islam-a legendary dramatist, thespian, and playwright-will take place during the event. The festival will include other festivities, such as award-giving ceremonies, presentations of different plays and commemoration


Dr. Israfil Shaheen to receive Syed Mohidul Islam honorary medal

The award-giving ceremony will comprise the Syed Mohidul Islam medal, 'Monchobondhu' honorary awards, and 'Jugol' honorary awards. Dr. Israfil Shaheen, renowned theatre director and a Professor of Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Dhaka, will be honored with the Syed Mohidul Islam medal.

Freedom fighter and senior artist Professor Ziaul Hasan Kislu, dramatist and theatre director Shudhangshu Biswas, actress Sangeeta Chowdhury,  actor-director Momin Babu, and Masud Alam Babu are to receive the 'Monchobondhu' honorary awards.

Mir Sabbir- Farzana Chumki, Abu Hashim Masuduzzaman- Laila Bilkis Chhobi, Habib Masud- Monami Islam and Shurojit Bose- Shulekha Bose pairs will be rewarded with 'Jugol' honorary awards.

The inaugural ceremony of the event will take place on November 4 at the National Theatre Hall, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. The play, “Tapaswi o Torongini” will be staged by the theatrical group, ‘Lok Nattyadol'. “Pakhi” by ‘Batikrom Nattyagosty' will be performed on November 5 at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala academy. ‘Shobdo Nattyacharcha Kendro' is going to perform the stage-play “Ki Chaho Shangkhochil” on November 6 at National Theatre Hall. On November 7, ‘Mal Actowala', an Indian Bengali theatre group will stage the play, “Corona Kaaler Mondo Akkhan” at the National Theatre Hall. Closing the program, ‘Chandrokola Theatre' is going to showcase their theatrical work, “Sheikh Saadi” on November 8. 

Regular discussion sessions and remembrance meetings will be held with other festivities during the reminiscent festival.
