Veteran actor Alamgir hospitalized with Covid-19

Film star Alamgir Hossain has been recently diagnosed with Covid-19. He is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dhaka.

His wife and renowned playback singer Runa Laila announced the unfortunate news in a Facebook post. 

She wrote, "A group of excellent doctors, nurses and hospital staff are taking constant care of him. He is also in a good mood and doing well."

The singer urged everyone to pray for the veteran film star's swift recovery.

The 71-year-old actor has already taken two doses of the coronavirus vaccine, reports UNB. 

Alamgir, one of the most revered Bangladeshi actors, won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor and Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor a record nine times. 

The 71-year-old actor's most notable roles include Ma O Chhele, Apeksha, Khotipuron, Moroner Pore, Pita Mata Santan, Andha Biswas, and Desh Premik, Jibon Moroner Sathi Ke Apon Ke Por and others.
