Alliance Française de Dhaka to celebrate Fete de la Musique on Wednesday

Marking the Fete de la Musique 2017, which is globally known as the World Music Day, Alliance Française de Dhaka has organised a program at its La Galerie on Wednesday from 12pm to 6pm. The event will present solo and group musical performances in Bangla, English and French, as well as instrumental featuring piano, guitar and flute. Fete de la Musique presents a great opportunity to immerse and participate in a musical expedition by offering thousands of free concerts all over the world. Celebrated on June 21 every year, the day of the summer solstice in the northern hemisphere, the Fete de la Musique began in 1982 by the then French Minister of Culture, Jack Lang. In 1985, the Fete de la Musique became European and now more than 120 countries and around 350 cities participate in this event. The Fete de la Musique is the free “fête”, open to any participants, amateur or professional musicians. It celebrates live music in all its diversity and aims at a large audience. A series of group and solo musical events will be organised by the Alliance Française de Dhaka this year to celebrate the Fete de la Musique.
