Cholochitro Shilpi Samiti election held successfully

The election of Bangladesh Cholochitro Shilpi Samiti, the organisation of film actors in Bangladesh, was held successfully on Friday. The election started from 9am and ended at 5 pm.
With the appearance of veteran actors of the industry as well as newcomers, the day also turned out to be a day of reconciliation as well. In fact, many of the artists arrived at BFDC, the venue of the election, way before voting started.
Illustrious artists of Dhallywood, including the likes of Suchonda, Babita, Suchorita, Anwara, Probir Mitra, Rani and Shakil Khan actively took part in the election in order to choose the future helmer of their beloved ex-workplace. On the other hand, the presence of contemporary actors like Ananta Jalil, Kazi Maruf, Samrat, Meem, Borsha, Porimoni added yet another dimension to the event.
A total of 57 candidates contested for 21 posts in the committee, which will be valid for the next two years. 558 voters out of a total of 624 took part in the election. Three executive panels, headed by Omar Sani-Amit Hasan, Misha Sawdagar-Zayed Khan and Danny Sidak- Ilius Kobra, are contesting the election. Director Mantajur Rahman Akbar headed the election commission.
The results were yet to be announced when this report was prepared.
