In the first 23 days of June, Bangladesh received over $2 billion in remittances, with expatriates sending extra funds to their families for Eid-ul-Adha.
May also saw remittances exceed $2 billion, reflecting a 38% increase compared to the same time last year.
This marks the third month in a row that remittances have surpassed $2 billion, according to data from Bangladesh Bank.
In April, the country received $2.04 billion through its banking channels.
In the first 12 days of June, expatriates sent $1.45 billion to Bangladesh through banking channels largely due to Eid-ul-Azha.
According to Bangladesh Bank, this was a $620 million increase, or 75% more, compared to the same period last year.
In the same period last June, the country received $840 million in remittances.
