Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has reduced the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for July, cutting the retail price of a 12kg cylinder by Tk357.
Under the revised pricing, a 12kg LPG cylinder will now cost Tk1,528, down from Tk1,885 in June. The new rate will take effect from 6:00 pm on Thursday.
The revised prices were announced at a press briefing at the BERC headquarters. The commission said the adjustment was made based on Saudi Aramco's July Contract Price (CP), import costs, the exchange rate of the US dollar, and other related expenses.
BERC also reduced the price of autogas to Tk74.40 per litre from Tk86.93 per litre.
In addition to the 12kg cylinder, prices of LPG cylinders of other sizes have also been adjusted in line with the new per-kilogram rate. However, the prices of LPG supplied by state-owned companies remain unchanged.
