The party's Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the announcement at a press briefing held in its Naya Paltan office on Sunday.
BNP sought permission from Dhaka Metropolitan Police for a rally in Suhrawardy Udyan on Sunday, but was denied.

Earlier, DMP authorised BNP to organise a rally at Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) in Dhaka, instead of in Naya Paltan as BNP wanted.
BNP spokespersons angrily reacted to the decision.
BNP had sought police permission to hold the rally on November 8 at Suhrawardy Udyan to celebrate November 7 as “National Revolution and Solidarity Day.”
