Nasim finds Manna-Khoka’s link to Avijit murder

Health Minister Mohammad Nasim yesterday said Abhijit Roy was the first victim of a Viber conversation plot between BNP leader Sadeq Hossain Khoka and Nagorik Oikya Convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna.

Nasim also warned BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia of dire consequences if she killed innocent people in the name of blockade and shutdowns.

Khaleda was involved in an anti-state conspiracy, as she was killing innocent people in collusion with militants and terrorists, he said at a press conference of the 14-party alliance.

The minister called Khaleda Zia the queen of militants and terrorists. She is also now a leader of petrol bombers and killers.

“You (Khaleda) have to wait only a few days to meet your tragic consequence,” Nasim cautioned.

The press conference was held after a meeting of the 14-party alliance leaders at the Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s political office at Dhanmondi in the capital yesterday.

He said, the telephone conversation between Khoka and Manna proved that BNP was also involved in the conspiracy.

Nasim, also the spokesperson of the 14-party, put the blame of the Abhijit Roy murder on fundamentalists and militants led by the BNP-Jamaat alliance.

“In the conversation, BNP leader Khoka and Nagorik Oikya Convener Manna plotted to kill several persons or students on the Dhaka University campus to create an anarchic situation in the country,” he added.

In another programme, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed said BNP Chief Khaleda Zia had called a war against the country’s general public.

Criticising Khoka-Manna’s leaked conversation, Tofail said: “It proved that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia directed Manna to plot the conspiracy in the name of political dialogue.”

“Khaleda’s conspiracy has failed, and she will also miserably fail in her war against innocent people, as the case of Pakistan which was defeated by Bangladeshis,” he added.

Meanwhile, Food Minister Quamrul Islam yesterday said BNP’s proposal for dialogue can be taken into consideration if it severs its relation with terrorists and militants.

“An election is the only way to get in power, and the national polls will be held in the year 2019,” he vowed.

A conspiracy will bring no benefit, he said, while speaking as a chief guest at a discussion organised by Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote at Shilpakala Academy in the capital.
