Pakistan has no intention to make any comment on Bangladesh’s internal affairs, including the death sentence to Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer and war criminal Motiur Rahman Nizami, said a Pakistan Foriegn Ministry official.
Islamabad, however, noted on comments and reports of the international community and the human rights organisations about the war crimes trial processes.
“We are mindful of the developments in Bangladesh…We do not comment on the internal matters in other countries,” said Tasnim Aslam Khan, spokesperson of the Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
She made the remark when a journalist at a weekly briefing in Islamabad wanted to know whether Pakistan would launch a protest with Bangladeshi authorities following death sentence of war criminal and top Jamaat leader Motiur Rahman Nizami.
The journalist also wanted to know why this was happening and why Pakistan has been quite silent on this matter, according to the Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
A Bangladesh international crimes tribunal sentenced Nizami to death for crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971.
