BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is set to visit the district on May 28 in order to address a public gathering at the Launch Ghat area.
Munshiganj Municipality AKM Iradat Manu, also a BNP leader, confirmed the Dhaka Tribune about the matter.
He said: “We have sought the permission for holding the rally on May 19. The deputy commissioner gave the permission on Monday afternoon.”
But, he asked to hold the programme outside of the mian town, he added.
