Fifteen lawyers have been detained from the Supreme Court premises ahead of a pro-BNP programme with party's chief Khaleda Zia in the chair.
Police cordoned off the Supreme Court premises and tore down the stage to stop the rally organised by Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Samiti on Saturday morning.
Fifteen lawyers were detained from the spot, Ramna zone police Assistant Commissioner Shibli Noman said. “They will be interrogated.”
The official said the lawyers did not have permission for the rally at Supreme Court premises.
The rally was later shifted to the National Press Club.
Earlier on Thursday, police did not allow a programme of the Dhaka city unit BNP, where Khaleda Zia was expected to address a gathering.
