The BNP has alleged that Fulgazi upazila Chairman Ekramul Haque was killed due to the ruling Awami League's intra-party feud.

The prime minister's office tried to shoulder the responsibility of the killing to the opposition party by issuing a statement before conducting any investigation,
The prime minister's office tried to shoulder the responsibility of the killing to the opposition party, alleged Mirza Fakhrul.
He said: “Prime Minister has been trying to shoulder the responsibility of Ekramul killing to conceal the intra-party feud. After the incident without any investigation, the prime minister office tried to accuse a specific person and tried to use killing in order to serve their political purpose.”
The spokesperson of the party further said: “You (government) tried heart and soul to conceal the involvement of AL men in the Narayanganj killing incident, but you failed. Your efforts to hide the Fulgazi killing incident will also go in vain.”
Referring to different newspaper reports, he said: “It has become clear that the killing took place just for intra-party feud of the ruling party.
Ekram was a member of Zainal Hazari's steering committee and there was a longstanding dispute between Ekram and Nizamuddin Hazari. Akram made public many of Hazari’s misdeeds,” he added.
Expressing concern over the prevailing law and order situation of the country, Fakhrul said the whole nation became worried after the Narayanganj and Fulgazi killing incidents.
“The country has turned into a death valley. The killing in Fulgazi took place in the nose of the local administration which projected poor state of the law and order.”
He demanded immediate arrest of the killers of Ekramul.
