‘Anarchy in name of long march won’t be tolerated’

Awami League Publicity and Publication Secretary Hasan Mahmud has said no one will be allowed to create anarchy towards Teesta Barrage in the name of “long march” to be arranged by the BNP-led alliance on April 22.

The Awami League leader was speaking at a discussion organised by Bangabandhu Academy at Sagor-Runi auditorium at Dhaka Reporters Unity in the city on Friday afternoon.

“None will be spared if anyone tries to create anarchy in the name of long march towards Teesta. The government is determined to prevent any form of anarchy with an iron bar,” he said.

Criticising BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, Hasan said: “The leader who did not even talk over the water sharing of Teesta or Ganga River during her Delhi visit, is now trying to create anarchy through this long march.”

Hasan Mahmud came down heavily against BNP Vice-Chairman Tarique Rahman for his comments against Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
