Ganajagaran Mancha vows to free country from Razakars

Educationist, Journalists, cultural activists and prominent personalities of the country on Friday hoped the Ganajagaran Mancha would continue its movement to uphold the interest of common people.

They were speaking at a rally titled Jagaran Rally organised by the Ganajagaran Mancha at Shahabag on the occasion of its first anniversary.

Convener of the Mancha Imran H Sarkar read out a report on activities and movement of the platform in one year.

Imran said: “Since the beginning the platform has been driven by the will of people of the country. We have never planned anything at our will.”

Criticising those who have tried to resist the movement of the platform Imran said: “A quarter has always tried to destroy our movement; they launched attack on us and killed many of our men but they failed. None can stop us, we will continue to do what we are doing until Bangladesh turns into a non-communal, Razakar and Jamat-Shibir free country.”

Prominent Journalist and writer Abed khan termed the Ganagajaran movement a movement of youths not any political party or any group.

“Youths have proved through the Ganajagaran Mancha that our country is not a property of any political party and groups, it’s a country of every liberation fighter and citizen inspired by the liberation war”.

Barrister Turin Afroz, prosecutor of the International Crime Tribunal, said the year 2013 was a successful year for the ICT as it declared nine verdicts on war criminals the same year”.

Air Vice Marshal A K khandar said: “The youths have risen and they will be able to make Bangladesh what they wished through the Ganagajaran Mancha”.

Cultural activists Nasiruddin Yousuf Bacchu said: “The Ganajagaran started its journey demanding punishment to war criminals but now it has spread its wings to various issues including protesting communal attack and banning Jamat-Shibir.”

Meanwhile, the Ganajagaran Mancha on Friday morning organised a drawing competition where disabled and distressed children took part.

A documentary on Spartacus was also screened at night.
