Family meets Sayedee in jail

Prison sources said the visitors entered the prison around 11:30am Friday. The group included Sayedee's wife, two sons, a daughter-in-law and two grandchildren and they spent about half an hour with him. Jamaat-e-Islami leader Sayedee is serving a life term for committing murder and rape among other crimes during the Liberation War of 1971. He was originally given a death sentence by the war crimes tribunal. He has a review petition pending against the verdict. Another major war criminal and Jamaat leader Mir Quasem Ali is facing death row and may be executed anytime.
