Communication Minister Obaidul Quader said the BNP will be given 10 to 12 ministries if it joins the polls-time cabinet.
The minister made the statement while talking to journalists at his office Tuesday morning.
“The BNP will face an existential crisis if it does not join the cabinet,” he added.
He added: “We will be happy if BNP joins the polls-time government and we still hope the party will come forward.”
Less than an hour after eight new ministers had been sworn in on Monday afternoon, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia sought an appointment with the president to discuss the latest developments.
The president agreed a meet time of 6:30pm on Tuesday.
