Islamist party Islami Andolan Bangladesh on Friday demanded a non-partisan polls-time government system to resolve the existing political crisis.
Party Chairman Rezaul Karim urged the president to take initiatives to resolve the political crisis and initiate election time government system.
Addressing a rally at the capital’s Suhrawardi Uddyan, he said the government had created a political crisis by the 15th amendment of the constitution.
He said both the ruling parties wants to rule the power, but no one is thinking about the public, rather they are involved with politics for power game.
“Awami League government has won in Barguna 2 constituency by-election through a power game and therefore no the election under AL can be fair,” he said.
“We are not going to participate in the polls under any party government. We want an election under an impartial government,” he added. The Islamist leader also demanded the announcement of election schedules before the parliament ends.
The IAB chief termed the Election Commission “controversial and unacceptable” and said no acceptable election could be held under the existing EC.
He also said the government was doing politics for the last four years with the Qawmi Madrasa Education Authority Act. He demanded that the government pass the act in the current parliament session.
At the rally, he also said his party would be contesting from all 300 constituencies.
Rezaul also announced a national rally in the capital on December 13.
