Several BNP leaders, including its secretary general, are set to meet Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus on Wednesday.
The meeting will be held at noon at the State Guest House Jamuna, the official residence of the chief adviser.
The 13th general election is expected to be held between December this year and June next year.
However, the BNP is not completely convinced by such a timeframe. Therefore, the party will urge the chief adviser to announce a specific roadmap to the election, the BNP chairperson's press wing said on Tuesday.
Party leaders said if they are given any assurance at the meeting, the BNP will decide on the strategy for its election campaign.
Otherwise, the BNP may also opt for a program seeking a roadmap, they added.
Salahuddin Ahmed, a member of the BNP's Standing Committee, said: "I will try to convince the chief adviser. Because, as promised, he should make an announcement [in line with] the assurances he gave to the BNP and the nation to hold the election next December through a proper press briefing. He should also order the Election Commission to complete preparations for the election and other tasks."
The BNP is also scheduled to hold a meeting with the National Consensus Commission at 3pm on Thursday.
Salahuddin said the party will decide on the next course of action only after the discussions with Yunus.
