Alal: Ziaur Rahman was the first to send Bangladeshi labour abroad

BNP Chairperson’s Adviser Advocate Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal has said that Ziaur Rahman was the first person to send Bangladeshi labour abroad.

He sent the first 6,000 workers overseas, establishing a strong foundation for remittance.

He made these remarks at a discussion meeting organized by Zia Parishad at the National Press Club auditorium, marking the 89th birth anniversary of BNP founder and former President Ziaur Rahman on Saturday.

Alal said: “Ziaur Rahman contributed as a hardworking individual in personal, family, and social life. Just as the love and compassion of a mother cannot be copied, Ziaur Rahman’s ideals cannot be replicated.”

The former president of the Jubo Dal further said: “Today, the country is witnessing a wave of reform. Two years ago, under the leadership of our acting chairman Tarique Rahman, we presented a proposal for reform to the nation. To the young students present here today, I urge you to unite the nation through good deeds. Collective strength is the strength of the country. Do not use this strength against your elders; instead, use it to build the nation. Develop your leadership skills, and it will bring good results.”
