Dr Mahmudur Rahman, editor of the Amar Desh, has threatened to initiate a strong protest if Chhatra League is not banned by Sunday.
He labeled the Chattra League as a terrorist organization during a dialogue with students on Islamic University, Kushtia on Thursday.
"I had given a seven-day deadline to ban Chhatra League as a terrorist organization. That deadline ends on Sunday. If Chhatra League is not banned by then, starting Monday, you will begin a movement here in support of my demand, and I will also continue my protest in the streets of Dhaka until it is banned," he said.
Mahmudur emphasized the need to distance from Chhatra League, saying: "To be free from the Awami League, we must first be free from the terrorists known as Chhatra League. The only terrorist organization in Bangladesh is Chhatra League."
He further criticized the current government, saying: "The government is very slow. They have not yet taken any meaningful action against the Awami League and Chhatra League."
