Ganatantra Mancha: Arson attacks carried out to suppress opposition

Leaders of Ganatantra Mancha on Monday alleged that arson attacks were carried out by the police and the government party simultaneously in the Saturday's peaceful sit-in programs to suppress opposition parties.

The bus was set on fire in the presence of the police in a planned way. Now these incidents of setting fire to buses are being used as an excuse to suppress the opposition including BNP. But the people of the country have caught these tricks of the government, they said.

The leaders of Ganatantra Mancha said these things at the protest rally held in Purana Paltan of the capital on Monday.

They held the rally protesting ‘arson terrorism carried out by police and ruling party's men' in the sit-ins program.

Saiful Haque, the coordinator of the rally, said: "The protest of the government party has given rise to mass sarcasm. It seems that they are protesting against the people of the country. Because the government and the ruling party are completely broken, they have to follow the opposition party and walk behind the opposition party.

“The way the government and the ruling party are playing with fire, they may have to burn to death in this fire,” he added.

Another leader Sheikh Rafiqul Islam Bablu said: "I and the leaders of my party were arrested without any provocation on that day. However, no terrorist of the ruling party who attacked the peaceful program was arrested. No matter how many obstacles and attacks come, the people of the country will return home by saying goodbye to this government.”

At the rally, Chief Coordinator of State Reform Movement's Hasnat Qayyum, urged the party leaders and activists to make of the democracy rally at the district level including the divisional cities on Tuesday, a success.
