BNP Vice Chairman Ahmed Azam Khan has called on Jatiya Party (JaPa) MPs to resign from Parliament on Saturday.
He made this call from the BNP divisional rally organized at Golapbagh in the capital on Saturday.
Ahmed Azam Khan said: “Seven MPs of BNP have resigned from Parliament. The JaPa MPs should also resign and join the ranks of the common people by Sunday. People do not want this government even for a moment.”
After the rally started on Saturday, seven BNP MPs announced their resignations from Parliament to “oust the government and accelerate the ongoing movement”. Before this, they submitted their resignation letter to the party.
BNP has seven MPs in the parliament. One of them is MP from reserved women seat. The seven MPs are Advocate Abdus Sattar in Brahmanbaria-2 Constituency, Harunur Rashid in Chapainawabganj-3 Constituency, Golam Mohammad Siraj in Bogra-6 Constituency, Mosharraf Hossain in Bogra-4 Constituency, Aminul Islam in Chapainawabganj-2 Constituency, Zahidur Rahman Zahid in Thakurgaon-3 Constituency and reserved Rumin Farhana in the female seat.
