BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan was admitted to a hospital in the capital on Thursday as he fell sick.
The senior politician was admitted to United Hospital in the morning.
"He has been feeling unwell for a few days. He was admitted to the hospital with high blood pressure and irregular heartbeat.” said his wife Kanta Islam.

He is receiving treatment at the High Dependency Unit (HDU) of the hospital under cardiologist Dr Mominuzzaman.
Kanta Islam urged all, including BNP leaders and activists, to pray for the speedy recovery of her husband.
