Ivy, Sakhawat busy electioneering

According to the THE NCC election scheduled, election campaign time started from December 5 and will end on December 20. Though Ivy and Sakhawat had started their election campaigns unofficially after getting nodes from parties, now they start campaigns with full strength. They are trying their level best to attract the voters. During her campaign, Ivy visited several areas in the city yesterday. Our local correspondent said, Ivy started her campaign around 9am in the morning. In the morning, she visited at Pathantuli area first with a small team comprising seven or eight people. When she arrived there, hundreds of local voters run to her and chanting slogans ‘Ivy apa, Nouka, Nouka’ with joy. Later, she visited Godnail, Enayetnagar, Prodhanbazar, Ayilpara, Chowdhurybari, Tatkhana. In every place where she arrived, people from all walk of life run to her and welcomed her campaign team. In some places this correspondent has found that hundreds of people were waiting with flowers to welcome Ivy. While she reached to them, locals expressed their gratitude to Ivy where some uphold their demands to Ivy. During her campaign, Ivy talked with journalists about her campaign strategies for upcoming battle. She said: “I do not want waste time. I want to contact with all the voters and people in my city.” On the other hand, Ivy’s main opposition BNP-backed mayoral candidate also was passing a busy day to attract the voters. He started his campaign yesterday early morning. At first he arrived at Khanpur Hospital Road around 6am. Later, he visited Chashara, Khanpur railway areas. In this time, local and top leaders of BNP district and city units were present with him. During his campaign, he took his breakfast at historical ‘Bosh Cabin’ around 8am. Later he arrived in DIT area in the city around 11am. He campaigned at 2 no. rail gate, Grindlage Bank Mor on the Bangabandhu road. In this time, BNP central leader Goyeshwar Chandra Roy, BNP Joint Secretary General Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, Khairul Khokon, District BNP President Taimur Alam Khandaker and other leaders were present with him.
