Quader: Withdrawal of BNP from city polls suspicious

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said BNP had not only failed in the city polls but also in waging their movement.

Neither do they have enough activists for waging movements nor did they have agents in the recent elections, the minister made the statement while speaking as the chief guest at a rally organised by the Awami League on the Nabinagar Pilot High School field in Brahmanbaria.

While meeting the queries of the reporters he said it was suspicious how BNP boycotted the polls despite getting enough votes. This proved the election was fair, but the BNP had pulled out suspiciously, he said.

He also criticised other countries of the United Nations for interfering in the internal affairs, like a local election, of Bangladesh.

Quader visited the Nabinagar-Radhika Road in the morning yesterday.

State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Captain (retd) ABM Tajul Islam and Brahmanbaria Awami League’s Chairman Obaidul Moktadir Chowdhury were present as special guests.
