Jatiya party senior co-chairman Raushan Ershad has got official recognition as deputy leader of the opposition in parliament.
Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury gave the recognition on Sunday following a letter sent to her on March 23 by leader of the opposition in parliament HM Ershad to take steps in this regard, said a gazette notification issued by the Parliament Secretariat.
On Saturday, Jatiya Party chairman HM Ershad and leader of the opposition in parliament removed his brother GM Quader from the post of deputy opposition leader and replaced him with Raushan.

The maverick former military strongman, known for frequently changing his decisions, sacked his brother from the party post of co-chairman on Friday.
GM Quader was elected MP from the Lalmonirhat 3 seat in the recently held general election.
HM Ershad, who was officially recognised as Leader of the Opposition after being elected as MP from Rangpur 3 seat, on January 4, announced that his party will be the main opposition in parliament while he will act as the leader of the opposition in parliament and his brother GM Quader the deputy leader of the opposition.
Raushan, the party's senior co-chairman, was the opposition leader in 10th parliament.
