Video: 4 killed in Kaptai building collapse

Four people have been killed and one injured when a two-storey building collapsed on the Kaptai Lake in Rangamati town on Tuesday evening. The deceased were identified as Jahid Hossain, 40,  his 10-year-old daughter Tithi Akhter, Habiba 22, and Samadul,7,said Momtasin Sagar resident medical officer of Rangamati General Hospital. The injured, Masum, is undertaking treatment at the hospital. [youtube id="gjo_vnxt2q0"] The building collapsed around 5:30pm near at Mohila College Gate area of the town, locals said. A joint force comprised of firefighters, army, navy and police have launched a rescue operation to get the trapped people out of the rubble. It is assumed that some 8-10 people were residing at the building, locals said. The causes behind the collapse are yet to known.
