Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) observed July Mass Uprising Day-2026, with due solemnity and respect through a series of commemorative programmes.
To commemorate the day, BUP arranged essay, poetry, and art competitions, a discussion session, a remembrance programme, a special prayer, and a ceremony to honour the families of the martyred students.
A discussion session, tribute-paying ceremony, and remembrance event were held at the BUP Bijoy Auditorium yesterday. The participants paid heartfelt tributes to the martyrs of the July Mass Uprising, recalled their supreme sacrifices, and highlighted the significance of the movement in the nation’s history, said a press release.
The family members of BUP student martyr Mir Mahfuzur Rahman Mugdha and martyr Jobayer Omar Khan attended the programme as special guests.
BUP Vice Chancellor Major General Md Mahbub-ul Alam, BSP, ndc, afwc, psc, MPhil, PhD, attended the event as the chief guest. In his address, he reaffirmed BUP’s commitment to fostering patriotism, democratic values, independent thinking, and awareness of national history among students.
The event was attended by senior military and civilian officials of BUP, faculty members from different departments, and students.
Through these commemorative initiatives, BUP paid tribute to the martyrs of the July Mass Uprising and reaffirmed its dedication to preserving the values and spirit associated with their sacrifice.
