A total of 18,710 vehicles crossed the Jamuna Bridge on Eid day, generating toll revenue of Tk1.26 crore.
Syed Riaz Uddin, executive engineer of the Jamuna Bridge Site Office, confirmed the matter on Friday morning.
According to the Jamuna Bridge Authority, the vehicles crossed the bridge during the 24 hours from 12am Wednesday to 12am Thursday.
Of the total vehicles, 9,177 were headed towards North Bengal, generating toll revenue of Tk57.82 lakh. Meanwhile, 9,533 vehicles travelled towards Dhaka, with toll collection amounting to Tk68.99 lakh.
Syed Riaz Uddin said vehicles were crossing the bridge through nine toll booths on both sides during the Eid travel period, while motorcycles were using two dedicated booths.
Authorities have been collecting tolls on the bridge since its inauguration in 1998. Previously, the Commuter System Network (CNS) managed toll collection, while China Road and Bridge Corporation has been overseeing the process since late 2012.
