State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku on Friday said that the administration and volunteer teams will work together to prevent traffic jam on the Jamuna Bridge and Dhaka-Tangail highway ahead of upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.
He said this while responding to questions from journalists before attending the Rabindra-Nazrul Jayanti festival at Tangail Shishu Academy auditorium.
The state minister said to reduce the suffering of people heading home for Eid, every effort will be made to ensure a traffic jam-free highway by deploying members of law enforcement agencies and volunteers. Additionally, the administration will issue necessary directives regarding the locations where sacrificial animal markets will be set up.
Tuku further said, "Jamuna Bridge and Dhaka-Tangail highway, being one of the main routes for northbound travelers during Eid, face excessive vehicle pressure every year. Advance preparations are being taken to make this Eid journey comfortable."
