Police recovered the hanging body of a senior official from Fariha Knit Tex factory in Fatullah of Narayanganj on Tuesday morning.
The deceased, Idris Ali, 43, served as Assistant General Manager of the factory’s Textile Division. He was a resident of Sonargaon upazila in Narayanganj.
According to factory sources, workers broke open the door of the locked storeroom around 10:00 am and found Idris hanging inside. Police later recovered the body and sent it to Narayanganj General Hospital for autopsy.
Factory Security Manager Mohammad Monir Hossain said Idris did not return home after office hours on Monday evening. Colleagues reportedly tried calling him, but his phone remained unanswered.
The victim’s wife, Hafiza Akter, questioned the possibility of suicide, saying her husband was religious, mentally stable, and had shown no signs of distress.
Following the incident, angry workers staged demonstrations outside the factory, demanding a proper investigation and justice. Many claimed Idris had been killed.
Fatullah Model Police Station OC Mohammad Mahbub Alam said the exact cause of death would be confirmed after the autopsy report.
