JU suspends requisitioned vehicle allocation amid fuel crisis

Jahangirnagar University (JU) authorities have suspended the allocation of vehicles for personal requisition amid an ongoing fuel crisis.

The decision was announced in a notice signed by Prof Dr Md Shafiqul Islam, acting officer of the university’s transport office, on Tuesday night.

According to the notice, university vehicles are experiencing prolonged delays in refuelling, often waiting at filling stations late into the night while still struggling to secure sufficient fuel. This has made it increasingly difficult to maintain regular transport operations.

In this context, the transport office said that buses, minibuses, microbuses and pickup vans will not be allocated for personal requisition from April 9 until further notice.

The university authorities have urged teachers, students, officers and staff to cooperate and bear with the temporary inconvenience.
