At least two people were killed and 30 others injured when a passenger bus lost control and rammed into multiple vehicles before overturning in Bhaluka Upazila of Mymensingh on Friday afternoon.
The accident occurred at the Cluber Bazar area in front of Tafrid Cotton Mill in Bharadoba along the Dhaka–Mymensingh Highway.
The deceased were identified as Musi Akhter, 40, wife of Jalal Uddin from the Kashiganj area of Trishal upazila, and an unidentified man aged around 60. Both were passengers on the bus.
According to police and local sources, the bus had left Dhaka for Nalitabari in Sherpur. Suddenly it reportedly lost control upon reaching the accident site. It struck a CNG-run auto-rickshaw, a battery-operated auto-rickshaw and a motorcycle before crashing into a roadside pillar and overturning.

Bhaluka Fire Service and Civil Defence Senior Station Officer Atiqur Rahman said rescue operations began immediately after the incident.
“Around 30 people were injured, including six in critical condition. One of the critically injured later died at the hospital,” he said.
Officer-in-Charge of Bharadoba Highway Police Station Mehedi Hasan confirmed the fatalities and said the identity of the elderly victim is yet to be verified. He added that the bus has been seized and legal action is underway.
