Centenarian Rokeya Ahmed, wife of R Ahmed, passed away at the age of 103 at her residence, Rokeya Bhaban, in Bhelanagar of Narsingdi, on Friday, February 20, after Jumma prayers during the holy month of Ramadan.
Family sources said Rokeya Ahmed was among the rare centenarians in the country, remembered for a life marked by resilience, grace, and quiet strength.
She is survived by her five children.
Her eldest son, Kazi Salahuddin Akbar, is a retired additional secretary and former member of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission.
Relatives, neighbours, and well-wishers mourned her death, recalling her as a dignified figure who left behind a legacy of love and perseverance.
