Jahangirnagar University (JU) has opened a one-time “Special Hall Transfer Window” to allow students to regularise their official hall allotments in accordance with their actual place of residence.
The facility will be available only to students of the 50th, 51st and 52nd batches, according to a notification signed by Acting Registrar ABM Azizur Rahman.
Under the initiative, students currently residing in halls other than those officially allotted to them may apply using a prescribed form. Applications will be verified by the respective hall provosts before receiving final approval from the university administration.
The university authorities said the special arrangement aims to resolve long-standing administrative complications related to hall residency. They also clarified that no such opportunity will be extended in the future, and all hall allotments will strictly follow existing rules and regulations.
The deadline for submitting applications is February 17, 2026.
