Education Adviser Professor CR Abrar on Tuesday visited the family of factory worker Dipu Chandra Das in Mymensingh to convey the government’s sympathy and assure support following his recent killing.
The Office of the Chief Adviser expressed sorrow over the incident and extended its condolences to the family.
The Interim Government described the killing as a heinous criminal act with no justification and no place in Bangladeshi society. It stressed that allegations, rumors, or differences of belief can never excuse violence, and no individual has the right to take the law into their own hands.
Authorities arrested 12 individuals in connection with the crime, and investigations are ongoing. The government had directed that the case be pursued fully and without exception, warning that such acts of violence will be met with the full force of the law.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to the rule of law and to ensuring the safety, dignity, and equal protection of all citizens, regardless of religion, ethnicity, or background. It urged communities, institutions, and leaders to reject violence, resist attempts to create division, and uphold restraint, humanity, and respect for the law.
The Office of the Chief Adviser confirmed that financial and welfare assistance will be provided to Das’s family and that authorities will remain in close contact with them.
The Interim Government reiterated its resolve to protect all citizens and ensure justice is served.
