Jahangirnagar University (JU) has suspended all examinations for three days, from September 9 to 11, on the occasion of the Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (Jucsu) and Hall Union elections.
Classes will continue on September 9, but both classes and examinations will remain suspended on the following two days.
The decision was announced in a notice signed by university registrar ABM Azizur Rahman on Tuesday night.
According to the notice, all pre-scheduled practical and final examinations across departments and institutes will be postponed on September 9, while classes will continue as usual.
On September 10 and 11, both classes and examinations will remain suspended. Additionally, all classes and examinations under weekend and evening programs will be suspended on September 12 and 13 due to the election.
The university authorities have also directed all examination committees not to schedule any new semester or final examinations until the Jucsu election is held.
The long-awaited Jucsu and Hall Union elections are scheduled to be held on September 11, after a 33-year gap.
